I was born in Moscow. In my childhood I enjoyed collecting and analyzing various facts and events, so I decided to choose a career of statistician. These years the only university that provided educational programs in statistics was Moscow Economics-Statistics University (MESI). I graduated from MESI in 1987 and got a degree of economist-mathematician. Then I worked as a researcher for Russian Research Institute of Economics, Politics and Law for a decade, and then I headed the scientific sector in this Institute. Later I occupied the same position in the Institute of Informatics Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPI RAN). All these years I made research in the field of innovative and technological activity in Russia and other countries. In my work I widely used various statistical methods and econometric tools.

I got PhD degree in economics in 1999 and started to teach students in MESI as a lecturer, and also I gave lectures and organized workshops for employees of Sberbank, Federal State Statistics Service, Bank of Russia and other Institutions.

In 2007 I got Doctor of Sciences degree and two years later I became a Professor of Economics.

I have been working for National Research University Higher School of Economics and for V. A. Trapeznikov Institute of Control Sciences of Russian Academy of Sciences since 2008. I am an author of more than 190 papers, 8 monographs on innovation activity and econometrics, and of a lot of chapters in monographs.

I was a supervisor of four PhD students and more than 100 postgraduate and undergraduate students.

Now I am an expert of Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation and other Science Foundations. I am a member of The International Association for Management of Technology (IAMOT) and The International Society for Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM).

Once or twice a year I participate in international conferences to share my knowledge and experience with my colleagues from Russia and other countries. When I have spare time, I prefer drawing, riding bicycle and mountain skiing.
